Our volunteers

News Flash -  One of our volunteers Ila Glennie has bravely gone for a dip at Aberdeen beach on Boxing Day with lots of other crazy and cold fundraisers.

Our evenings and weekend events are always lively and full of fun because of them. The enthusiasm with which they join in the activities be it bingo, dancing, games or crafts, is unrivaled. They have a genuine empathy with each other.

Our volunteers are an extraordinary group of people from different backgrounds, who freely give their time to help and support them. They are on hand to help during an evening or weekend activity to ensure that everything runs smoothly. These volunteers share their time with the members, providing them with the confidence to participate confidently in everyday life.

We are looking for volunteers to help with our activities. If you can spare one evening a week between 7.30 and 9.00pm to help at one of events please contact Monica Fernandes email: onetoonenws@gmail.com
We hold events on Tuesday evenings in Chertsey, Wednesday evenings in Staines and Thursday evenings in Weybridge. Refer to Upcoming Events calender for list of current activities.

Everyone can volunteer - no experience required and no age-limit.
Volunteering is simple and about giving your time to do something useful but not getting paid for doing it.
Good reasons to volunteer:
  • Do something worthwhile for your community
  • Have fun!
  • Learn new skills (and develop existing ones)
  • Meet new people
  • Update your CV
  • References given for the volunteering you do

Comments from volunteers

"As a One to One volunteer it is rewarding & fun our members are a great bunch.

I look forward to my Wednesday fun & games evenings there is never a dull moment before you know it its time to go home.

I enjoy catching up with our members just as you do with friends.

Sharing the happy times & sad times.

Life would not be the same without One to One."
